My Journey through Sojong Period

My Religious Fasting Journey ( 3rd Lunar Month- Saga Dawa)

Haven't I thought until now that I can be finally capable of doing it and completing it too. I believe this to be one of the greatest achievement of mine. This period in surface seemed quite achievable, but in reality it was the toughest for me though the time was just for 1400hrs per day until the new day starts and then we could take breakfast. My determination would sometimes be so low that I would think of nearly giving up, but with faith and good intention I made it through.

The first day of the lunar month started with the prayer and the blessing from Rinpochhe . I remember, being a bit reluctant but my friend, who is so religious in nature called me again and again until I joined😊. Then after with the prostration along with some prayers and blessings, the mission started. I indeed promised! to follow the instructions and carryout this mission till a month. I doubted myself 🤔 wondering, "will I make it"?

So, why did I take part then?
This period was a time to check my patience. First few days, Oh My God! even If I do not take dinner nor I take any snacks after lunch, this period due to compulsion felt as if I would die without having to eat... The crazy flow of saliva felt through my mouth seeing any type of edible stuff and even those snacks, which I am not fond of eating. Forget about the temptation after seeing food, even without seeing and just a thought of food lingering in my head made me craze for food. I just felt like running down to "7 Eleven" and take a bite of all the snacks gluttonously.  Crazy huh! 😆

To come back to why I promised to pratice is purely because I thought this to be a good deed that can at least help me earn some good Karma.  The fact I believe that I am not good of doing other good deeds. So, this religious month was an auspicious and good starting for a journey through a religious fasting. The religious month of Saga- Dawa, is a very auspicious day for the Buddhist. It is the day where all the Buddhist  community comes together by practicing dharma in their own ways. They do prayers ( chant mantras), visit temples, light up butter-lamps, circumambulate the holy plays, go for pilgrimage, etc...

So, though the journey was a bit tough for me, the satisfaction I felt is a greatest achievement. Therefore, looking forward to do the same next time possibly. 😊

Our COMPLACENCY can Borne Disaster

Life is only once and we believe to enjoy it to the fullest but do you think it is applicable today? No way, we can't. We are obliged to stay within our protective walls called Home so to protect ourselves. Moving out alike in past is risky and we don't want to risk our life. Indeed everyone wishes to go out, hangout with friends, some wants to escape their heavy hearted life, etc... But wishing to bring back that normal life is morphing and so we must be flexible to adapt the new normal despite the less contact interaction like in past. Imagine, how the people in southern parts of country or in the bordering areas are adapting. They have been locked at home which seems like ages. Those places looks so barren and dry. It seems as if the lushness of forest has all gone with no rustling of the trees with no chirping of the birds.

We believe that we can overcome many things getting out. Cutoff this belief, it could have been true then. Today, its a techno world, be creative and innovative. There can be many other ways we can engage ourselves from dawn to dusk. Humans are incredible creator of many things and definitely, lots of ways can be created to Engage ourselves and if possible others too.

Mine though not interesting it can be, but I do the following stuff  for engagement such as;
  1. Prayers
  2. Watch movies at home
  3. Short walk
  4. Update blog with my silly thoughts or vlog (YouTube)
  5. Check on friends and families posts. Give them a like and love. Keep in touch
  6. Watch some funny clips/ Tiktok
  7. Watch inspirational videos: Jay Shetty and Dharman (Instagram)
  8. Chat with my room mates over simple things making it humorous.
  9. Cooking...
Likewise or based on your likes, you too can create varying interest to engage but please no negative stuffs. In a way, we become a savior of our own lives and our friends and families too. Since going out is risky, controlling with new engagement can be fun sometimes. Otherwise, we will be responsible in destroying our lives because this disease isn't a seasonal flu instead a deadliest virus, which is mutating to more dangerous and threatening our lives. Be updated about it and prepare yourselves to how you  can fight with it. Wear mask with bullet proof to even the tiniest particle of dust, carry hand sanitizer (best to wash the hands regularly) and maintain physical distancing.

Let us not act complacent because this unseen enemy has reached everywhere now, and it has not yet been possible to eradicate. Believe in the Unity of Adherence to the Protocol system for this is the only path we can protect ourselves, our nation and the world at large.

Take Care and Stay Safe... Build you Immune system...

My Inspirational Hero: My King

The sun rays falls so strong

And walking beneath is

The one we truly believe,

His Majesty…Yes, our King

In the scorching sun exploring around…

Exploration it is,  not for his fun

But for people indeed and

To encourage the front liners

To further put the best they can.

The walk He passes are not easy as we thought

he comes across,  many insects bites,

the heat, that burns him so hard

and the rain wetting him, which drenches heavily.

All these for whom He does?

Not for himself, not for the personal gain

But for the safety and happiness of all

With the hope to stay united and defeat the infecting race.

For the unity and for the desperate ones

To  succeed together, He puts his best

Unlike others, no one could ever imagine

This is our king….Yes He's our King

He inspires me, and so does to many in the world

All hopes will surely come to be true

Because his strive and keeping us united

Will definitely defeat the world with Virus

It has no power to last long.

One day not so far, will end this

Coz we have the mighty sword

The faith of his Dynamic Leadership.

WIDENING My Route of EXPERIENCE

Sitting relaxed in front of the fan, had me open my blog to share this different experience I am having. 16th Feb, 2021 I had my first flight from Paro (Bhutan) to Thailand. It was a goosebump trip for me but enjoyed the sky view of the mountains, rivers and other physical features of Earth🌍. It was a dream come true to be on flight in fact. Also what I had seen just in pics and google earth, was in front of me in real, which made me feel excited too. 😊

On landing, 😱 I nearly upset my tummy🤢. It was alike the experience of descending Ferries Wheel🎡. Furthermore, all those formalities in the airport before checking out added to my motion sickness. But I appreciated the humble nature of the staff who helped us to complete all the formalities.

We were then headed to our quarantine hotel from the "Suvarnabhumi Airport" to "So Boutique". There my another first experience was staying alone in a hotel room. Since I like watching a lot of horror movies, my brain spotlighted the glimpse of all those scary creatures😖. So, I kept the TV On the whole night, to feel the warmth of having people around.  Next was the food. I liked it at first but my body didn't accept it and I was sick missing our Bhutanese cuisines. Tough thing was the communication, with the hotel staff asking for medicine and requesting for change in menu to vegetarian and requesting to avoid adding sugar and sause. The taste still feel fresh like a burp after a meal. The problem could have been either I wasn't clear to them or I didn't understand the way they spoke English in their accent. For first few days I was trying to do some workout but sickness lethargized me afterwards too. After reaching hotel, we had done the COVID test(PCR) for 2 times but it wasn't hard especially for me because being in Phuentsholing (known as high risk zone) and serving as a Desuup, I got chance to do the test at least 4 to 5 times. And being in hotel wasn't a boredom too because after a  week, we were given to meet for 1 hour everyday.

Then, on 3rd March, 2021 our Quarantine period got over and we checked out for the University (Rangsit International College). We came via Taxi and the view wasn't like a new place. I felt alike travelling to Siliguri, India. While travelling we realized, we got in the wrong university since we said Rangsit University, and there are many universities in Rangsit. Later, we realized our University has to be called as "Mo Rangsit". On reaching the campus, we were helped by our Bhutanese boys and girls. We went to the Faculty of Education to meet Ajarn Muay, who helped to process and complete the formalities of admission.

Finally, we were sent to our Dormitory respectively and I got my room in the 11th floor. Luckily, there is an elevator. Otherwise, it would have been a very difficult experience to drag my body and climb up to 11th floor. 😆

P.S: Communicating is very difficult and to eat out and order a menu is a long time process except to index the displayed menu. Good luck... If u happen to visit too.

Rest of the experiences to be continued...
